Science, Technology, and Society
Stem cell research is a controversial scientific discovery. It is so controversial because people argue it is unethical to use stem cells since it comes from embryos, so it's like disrespecting a body. Those fetuses were living things and are now experiments. It has the potential healing chronic diseases such as Parkinson's, Huntington's, and cancers. It could help repair systems of the body and replenish bodies tissues. It can be taken from umbilical cord blood just after birth. It can also be found in all multicellular organisms, that can divide through mitosis and differentiate into diverse specialized cell types and can self-renew to produce more stem cells.
